It’s fun for coming back to Arsenal match after waiting a little bit longer since Watford clash. Bad news that Leicester win over Southampton, and some of good news come from Arsenal potential target, Granit Xhaka. Interesting to found that Xhaka still wanted come to Arsenal with Wenger still in ‘ambigous’ position. And Arsene profound that Arsenal is ‘looked’ but not particularly close to concrete the deals. Arsene cliché. Now back focus to the main theme for tomorrow, West Ham clash at Boleyn Ground. As Opta stated that Arsene has won nine and lost just two of his 16 Premier League visit to the Boleyn Ground (W9 D6 L2). But Arsenal got battered down in first met between them this season, and looking to win in West Ham’s ground look a little bit tricky. West Ham last five games in Premier League quite in good record, (W3 D2 L0) and Arsenal is (W2 D1 L2) not in best but the passion might be the differences between them.
Arsenal sit tightly in 3rd position with possibilities to winning on the title, beside that West Ham comfortably at 6th position when last season they got 12th. The man behind West Ham, Slaven Bilic stated that,
“To beat Arsenal you have to play a complete game. When they have the ball, you have to reduce the gaps between the lines. It’s a big London derby. Arsenal are fighting for the championship so they will want to win all their remaining games- we both want the three points.”
Of course it would be a tough match, consider the result of game would be very important for both teams and the quality of players are slightly closer than before. Team news from Arsenal are Aaron Ramsey and Flamini could be back, Rosicky, Wilshere, Cazorla and Chamberlain are still out. West Ham still losing James Collins and Sam Byram to catch up the game. Here are head to head for every part of position on the pitch.
1. Danny Welbeck vs Adriàn
Fast paced player Welbeck will be on test once again in West Ham turf, and with his impressive record for Arsenal there is no way he isn’t in Arsene first choice for Saturday match. Danny Welbeck 6 match in Premier League after injury has became fruitful for Arsenal with 3 goals already on his name. He is determined to put good performances for keeping his places in next Euro games and add his tally in this match could grow his chances bigger. Danny Welbeck has 70% accuracy under his feet and manage t0 get 3 chances for the team. His build is looking good and his presence for the team already put a threat for any goalkeeper around Premier League.
Adrian is West Ham first choice between the post with 28 apps and 8 clean sheet under the bars. Now he will try to stop Welbeck and anyone from scoring and his record 2.75 saves per game is not bad for him. Adrian also got 97% successful claim on his area, but he must wary about his conceded record, around about 1.15 per game. Adrian already got 72.7% conceded goals by open play and around 10% by corner and Danny could take advantage from that.
2. Mesut Ozil vs Dimitri Payet
They both sharing the same song, both are skillful and very entertaining to watch. Both also impressive for their national team in recent weeks. Dimitri Payet steal the show this season with 24 appearances and involved in 17 goals for West Ham. He became the main engine alongside Mark Noble for West Ham in midfield with 80 key passes for the team. Payet also very skillful on free kicks, with 3 for West Ham and the last with France so it would be worth watching out.
Mesut Ozil is on the next level, last news about him he won the best German Player from DFB and with recent spat about Arsenal title chance, it would be interesting for watching his passion proved. Mesut Ozil of course wanted to add his contribution for team like his close-18 assist records and proving his goals would be bigger. Mesut Ozil delivering 101 chances for the team magnificiently, but when talking about duels and take on, he can’t do much. If Ozil could pul a little bit strength, he will dominate the middle in full hand.
3. David Ospina vs Andy Caroll
Emenike would be left out after two last game for West Ham didn’t deliver any progress for the team. Andy Caroll with cope the chance when West Ham will playing counter attack and high ball against Arsenal. Andy Caroll is not playing well this season, with just 4 goals and 1 assist for him but his aerial duels probably would giving him advantage as usual.
And David Ospina would be a good challenge for West Ham with 4.00 saves per game, he got 2 clean sheet in 3 performance in Premier League. But Arsenal must wary of David Ospina incapability to catch and aerial duel, he never got any punches in the air. With that stats, Ospina probably got down against Andy Caroll challenge, and with that Arsenal will get an upset match.
Another players to watch are Arsenal’s Bellerin and Iwobi who already put good performances in recent weeks. These young players are very mature in their age and they are in spotlight in Watford match. Another suprise performance would be good for several match in future title race. Bellerin would get the challenge from Michail Antonio who playing very well on left wing, Michail Antonio already put 11 chances and 2 assist on his name, so Bellerin will go overlap cautiously. Iwobi is very promising and he will get his chance once more probably with Walcott down performance, he is very natural on delivering the ball with Ozil-Sanchez partnership. Iwobi offered what Arsenal missing, Santi Cazorla, even technically he is not on the same level but his calm touch would giving him place on starting team.
Elneny of course will be there, 100+ passing last match is proving him as a quality midfielder. Partnering with Coquelin defensively great, and Elneny offering balance om middle pitch. Losing Wilshere and Cazorla really affected Arsenal and Elneny give another dimension for Arsenal creativity to build up attack. Ramsey probably too soon for back in the line up but if he is in, Coquelin would out because dropping Elneny would be downforce the pattern. Leicester and Spurs are very determine and shocking anyone, but it was Arsenal mistake to let it happen. Now, if we can’t cope every single win in the last 7 matches, we will get another titleless season. My prediction Arsenal could win 2-0 against West Ham at Saturday.
